One more reason not to use windows

I don’t like the wasted productivity, the slow applications, or the generally unusable user interface, but I do actually love that windows gets all of the viruses out there. It’s penitence by the users of the worlds worst operating, offered up to the veneer of supposed shimmering brilliance that emanates down from the blinding white cathedrals of Redmond. Or would they be blinding green cathedrals because of all of the money stolen from the people because of windows licensing? Doesn’t matter, because there’s a new virus out there to fuck you all over!

“That’s when many of the poisoned machines will get more aggressive about “phoning home” to the worm’s creators over the Internet. When that happens, the bad guys behind the worm will be able to trigger the program to send spam, spread more infections, clog networks with traffic, or try and bring down Web sites.” Suckers. Just kidding, rather, when you use Novell’s SUSE Linux you can now run your application that previously required Windows! There’s not much more to say than to tell you to RTFA: http://www.networkworld.com/community/node/40198

Windows, how I hate thee

Posted: March 28th, 2009 | Author: admin | Filed under: windows | Tags: , , | No Comments »

I don’t know anyone that actually likes using Windows. Lots of people are forced to use it, mainly because their company is either 1) afraid of Apple, or 2) doesn’t think they can use Linux, or 3) are stupid and want to waste money on a shit product. In any case, here is one more example of windows sucking. It’s an answer to the age old question of “Why does windows take forever to shutdown?”

I’ll tell you what; every time I’ve needed to turn off my windows laptop – my work gives me one but I use Linux on everything else – I’ve just held down the power button, and in some cases taken out the laptop battery because windows takes a good 5 minutes to turn off. There’s no good reason, and in fact thre are no good reasons to ever use windows. Oh, you say you’re a gamer and need windows to play games? Get an XBOX 360 and shut up. Everything else can run on Linux or OSX, anything worth using anyway.
